A FNT season is a fixed number of playing sessions, culminating in a finals (playoff) session. Each session we meet for a Friday evening at a scheduled location. Light snacks and drinks are provided by the host.
The typical evening consists of a social and practice period followed by the league play. During the organized league play, members are grouped into groups of 3 or 4 and play a match play format over 5 games and are awarded points based on their finishes. Points carry week to week to establish rankings for finals. Finals are played at the end of the season to award cash prizes.
Players are encouraged to hang out and continue the fun after their match play is complete. Frequently we even spice a session up with raffles and giveaways to those present!
FNT is the brainchild of Matt W who just wanted an excuse to get together with good people, drink some beers, and play some pinball. While the DMV area has a long tradition of league pinball at bars and other public locations, it did not have as strong of a legacy of events centered around admiring and sharing personal collections of games.
FNT was created by fellow hobbyists as an excuse to get together with people of common interest, enjoy meeting new people, knocking a few back, and playing some kick ass pinball.
